Making Sure Your IPhone Can Be Activated

I ran into a bit of trouble last week when I tried to sell my iPhone. The person who is thinking about buying it from me wanted to know if they could use it on their current carrier. They wanted to know if they would have any issues. I want to make sure that I did my homework and sold this person a usable product, so I looked on this website that told me all about how to whitelist your iPhone. I didn’t even know that was something I needed to consider, but apparently it’s really important.

If an iPhone isn’t whitelisted, you won’t be able to activate it very easily. There could be a number of reasons why an iPhone isn’t able to be activated. A lot of times it’s for protection. Perhaps someone reported the phone stolen. There are viable reasons why this makes a lot of sense. But when you own an iPhone, and you have paid a lot of money for it, you want the freedom to use that phone on any carrier. I know for a fact that my iPhone shouldn’t have any issues, but I wanted to make sure before I sold it.

Using the same website, I was able to make the determination that my phone was in the clear. I quickly got back to the buyer, and shared the great news. Not only did I provide him with information, but I gave him the address to the website I used for reference. This way in the future, he will be able to learn more about the process and anything else he could possibly want to know about unlocking the phone. We immediately met and completed the transaction. I think were both very happy about the end result. He got a phone in great condition at a great price, and I learned something new.
