I have quite a bit of copper that is sitting in a pile behind my house, and I am in a bit of a tight spot when it comes to money. I have plenty of money in stocks, and other investments, assets, but not nearly as much liquid funds as I would like at the moment. Something came up and I am going to need some money quickly so I need to figure out the current price of copper per pound to see if it is high enough right now for me to feel justified in using the copper piping that I have to pay for this unexpected expense.
I am not sure exactly how much copper I have, but it is quite a bit of it. If I had to venture a guess, I would say it is at least 1000 pounds, and it might be a good bit more than that. It is all copper leftover from jobs that my uncle used to do as a plumber. He always brought it home with him, and amassed quite the collection. He passed away last year, and I inherited this copper, I guess you could say. I had been holding onto it, trying to wait until copper really hits a high mark in terms of price, and then cash it in then.
However, as long as the prices are reasonably good right now, then I think that I am going to have to go ahead and sell it, because it is the best option that I have available to me right now to pay for this expense. I really hate it when life throws a wrench at you and messed up all of your plans. But I guess it is to be expected, because the world surely isn’t a predictable place.
