It Took Some Time to Get Things Back on Track Again

Saturday, March 11th, 2017

For years, I road the bus to work or walked to work. It really helped me to save the big bucks to put toward other things that I needed to save money for. And most recently, I choose to go through and look at the many apartments in Stone Oak to find something closer to my work. All my planning has been working out well thanks to me being patient and mature with my finances. It makes me feel good to be on top of things. My life wasn’t always this way, and I can remember often being stressed because I did things in such a haphazard fashion in the far past.

I married someone who always had a lot of drama in his life. If he wasn’t creating drama, his friends and family created it. At first, it was rather exciting to be with someone who could handle a crazy life, but then I realized over time that that I don’t like to live my life like that. Over time, stress started building up. And drama takes up a lot of time in your life. I found that I was simply worn out all the time and not keeping up with things. (more…)

Creating Pay Stubs is Actually Very Easy

Tuesday, February 28th, 2017

I had no idea how to create check stubs the proper way, but thankfully I did not have to worry about this for too long. I thought that when my husband asked me to see about making some since he had to hire extra help for a few weeks, that I was going to have to create some of out thin air. I knew that I could do something with our word program, but it was just not something that I was used to using even for other things let alone creating a pay stub for his workers.

I figured the best way to learn how to do this was to find a tutorial on a website, so I went to my favorite search engine and did a search for just that. What I found was so much better though. (more…)

I Just Got Down to Charleston

Friday, February 17th, 2017

I had been out of school for a couple of months and ever since I have been doing my best to find the sort of job that I am qualified for. However it is not so easy to do that and I was getting pretty frustrated there before I found a job working for a big place in Goose Creek, SC. That is a suburb of Charleston, SC on one of the rivers that feeds into the harbor. Today I was looking at some one bedroom apartments in North Charleston SC. It took some looking around after I narrowed the search down on the internet. I was looking for a few things, most of all I wanted it to be close to where I am working. It needs to be close because if you are the wrong side of the bridge that is a big problem. That is a chokepoint obviously and there are apparently frequent traffic jams.

I also want to be able to work out, but the weather here is going to make that pretty uncomfortable. (more…)

We Finally Got a Winter Place in Arizona That We Enjoy Immensely

Saturday, February 11th, 2017

We were finally getting a place to retreat to in the winter. We talked about buying a house in Arizona, but we decided to just rent a luxury apartment instead. We looked around and found Old Town Scottsdale apartments for rent that were really luxurious. The place we rented has ceilings that are 10 feet in height. The bathroom has a deep soaking tub and a separate tiled shower with a glass door. The flooring is wood. The closets are of the walk-in style. It is extremely nice.

We wanted a place where we had nice community amenities on the property as well. They have garage parking, a really nice gym and there is a resort-style pool. They also have outdoor fireplaces and gaming. It is nice to be able to relax and enjoy yourself without having to go anywhere. The private balcony off of the master bedroom is also a very nice feature that we enjoy. We got a lot more in the way of nice things at the apartment than we could by getting a house in the area. I really enjoyed the pool and spa. (more…)

Current Price of Copper Per Pound

Saturday, February 4th, 2017

I have quite a bit of copper that is sitting in a pile behind my house, and I am in a bit of a tight spot when it comes to money. I have plenty of money in stocks, and other investments, assets, but not nearly as much liquid funds as I would like at the moment. Something came up and I am going to need some money quickly so I need to figure out the current price of copper per pound to see if it is high enough right now for me to feel justified in using the copper piping that I have to pay for this unexpected expense.

I am not sure exactly how much copper I have, but it is quite a bit of it. (more…)

Pro Athletes and Chiropractic Medicine

Thursday, January 12th, 2017

I am an athlete who earns a living playing the sport I am good at. You would think that being in good physical shape and being strong that I would not go to the doctor very much. I think I actually go more than people who are not athletes. I go in order to keep my body, the machine I use to get through this life, in good working order. I go to my Campbell chiropractor at least a couple of times per month to make sure my back is adjusted well and there are no problems that are starting to develop.

Just because one is an athlete does not mean that there is never any pain or problems. It just means that we probably do more to deal with the problems and more quickly than some folks. I do not like being unable to play. (more…)

Don’t Hesitate to Get Legal Help

Thursday, January 12th, 2017

No one likes to get caught up in a costly lawsuit, but I had no choice but to find an auto accident attorney in Sacramento after an incident occurred in which I simply had no choice but to get legal representation. I was leaving my drive way on a foggy morning when I was hit by a city truck. They were going way to fast and not taking the fog into account and the result is that my car was nearly totaled. It looked like a total loss and ended up costing thousands of dollars to fix.

Imagine the anger I felt when the police tried to shrug off the accident. They even had the gall to tell me that nothing would happen anyway because it’s the city and you can’t beat city hall. I called my insurance company and they said they’d work with me to get compensation, but that it could take a long time because the city government has a lot of money and lawyers and they can stonewall forever. I did not want to hear this. (more…)

Getting My Furnace Fixed Up and Ready to Go for the Winter Season

Wednesday, January 11th, 2017

Growing up, my parents taught me a lot about life. They wanted to make sure that I was prepared for the world, and I am really grateful for that because I have seen most people my age and even older who are clueless on so many things. Because of them, I was able to buy my first house when I was just 26 years old. Also because of them, I knew to contact a Sacramento HVAC company a few years later when I did my fall furnace check and heard some strange noises I had never heard before.

They had taught me to always check my air conditioners in the spring and my furnace in the fall, well before I would need to use either one. That way, if something was wrong with one, then I would have sufficient time to have it fixed. (more…)

Alternative Wedding Planning Ideas for Couples

Thursday, January 5th, 2017

From magazines to popular websites, there is an entire industry devoted to wedding planning to help brides and grooms come up with exactly the idea they’ve been envisioning in their heads. However, a good deal of wedding ideas in those forums tend to be more traditional and not every bride and groom want to go that route. Sometimes they want alternative ideas that are more reflective of who they are as a couple or as people. That is why many couples have become more environmentally friendly from choosing to send e-vites to handing out seed packets for wedding favors over more customary options that are less sustainable. Beautiful Real Estate in Palo Alto

Sunday, November 6th, 2016

I have wanted to buy a house in Palo Alto for a long time, because it is a really great place to live and I have always been a bit jealous of the people that live there. I never really had a reason to justify living there though and besides the houses tend to be quite expensive. But now, I have a new job at a tech company and so I am trying to find info about homes for sale in Palo Alto as this new job is just the sort of justification that I needed in order to get a house in the city.

I had been looking for a new job for close to a year, but I was rather picky about the jobs that i applied to. I even got a couple of job offers that I ended up turning down. (more…)

Getting Ahead on the Christmas List

Thursday, November 3rd, 2016

What I am doing is actually rather small. I figure that I need to pick off a few of the things off of my list and make it a lot simpler when I get down to the core of the problem. Right now I am trying to find the best sites for online shopping price comparison sites for the best prices on some small gifts. For instance I have a couple of dozen people on the list who are not really all that vital. They are more associates than friends if you want to describe it that way and we are not going to make it a huge ordeal to figure out what to get them I figure a nice 20 dollar LED flashlight is a good gift for the men on the list. I would really be happy if I got something like that which I could actually use. I have four or five of them in fact. I keep one in the glovebox of my car, one in the garage and then one in the major rooms of the house. If the lights go out I want to know where one of them is. (more…)

My Sister is Getting Divorced

Friday, October 28th, 2016

I had to go down to Savannah this morning to pick up my sister Rose and her kids. Things just have not worked out between her and Greg, but it is a lot more complicated than that. The boy was never put together perfectly, but he has been deployed at least once too often and he has come back thinking there are enemies behind every shrub. Rose tried to get him to get help, but he will not listen. So she eventually decided to hire some military divorce lawyers in Georgia and be done with it. If he does not want to get help, then there is not much that can be done about it. (more…)

Making Sure Your IPhone Can Be Activated

Thursday, October 13th, 2016

I ran into a bit of trouble last week when I tried to sell my iPhone. The person who is thinking about buying it from me wanted to know if they could use it on their current carrier. They wanted to know if they would have any issues. I want to make sure that I did my homework and sold this person a usable product, so I looked on this website that told me all about how to whitelist your iPhone. I didn’t even know that was something I needed to consider, but apparently it’s really important.

If an iPhone isn’t whitelisted, you won’t be able to activate it very easily. There could be a number of reasons why an iPhone isn’t able to be activated. (more…)

Learning Productive Lifestyle Tips from Blogs

Monday, October 10th, 2016

One of my girlfriends and I were talking about all kinds of things the other day. She asked me who will marry Elsy, and I asked her a few questions about other people that we know from social media. She also told me about a blog post she had read that she was taking some ideas from to have better days. The two of us are really big into self improvement in any way that we can, so I was curious to hear what she was doing now.

She told me about Frederic Haddad, who is a COOO of a digital marketing company. He has his own blog, and he writes some pretty interesting things on it. When she told me that she was going to start waking up earlier because of a blog post he wrote, I thought she was talking about waking up at 8am instead of 9am. However, she was talking about something much different than that. She said that Frederic listed how he goes to sleep at 8pm, and then he sleeps for at least 7 hours. (more…)

My Oak Tree Had Fungus on It

Friday, September 16th, 2016

One of my favorite things to do when I have some free time is to go outside with a good book and sit under a huge oak tree in the back yard. I can usually lose myself within seconds in my book, but the last time I went out was different. I had noticed that there was something that look like fungus on the bark of the tree, and it concerned me because it wasn’t there just a few weeks prior to that. I knew that I needed to find a company that does tree service in Nassau County.

I did not want just a tree cutter to come out and cut the tree down. Even though it did not look good, it was not a problem that had been around for years. I was just sitting under the tree a few weeks prior and would have noticed it. (more…)

Tackling a Few Tough Assignments

Wednesday, September 7th, 2016

For a civil engineering assignment, students were given random tasks to figure out how to complete. I was given the task of learning how to create a successful slab on grade construction. I found some information in my text book that was helpful, but I wasn’t able to figure out the rest using it. Someone suggested that I try using a slab on grade design spreadsheet to solve my problem. It seemed like an obvious answer to my problem, but the thought of it never crossed my mind until someone else said it.

I was able to find a website with the spreadsheet that I needed. (more…)

School for Learning Music Production

Monday, September 5th, 2016

My oldest son is going to be going to college next year, and I want to start helping him to look for a college to go to, so that he has his plans in place far ahead of time for him to actually graduate. I believe that always makes the transition a bit easier. My son has always been very interested in music and I know he would like to go to a music production school if I can find a college that has a good program for that. He has played music for most of his life, and began playing piano when he was only 4 years old. (more…)

Migration Info for New Zealand

Monday, September 5th, 2016

New Zealand is pretty much my ideal place to live, for a number of reasons, and I really wish I could live there. This is opposed to the country that I am living in right now, which I view as getting worse and worse every day. Well maybe it isn’t literally getting worse on a daily basis, but it sure seems like it. Anyway, I am looking for info on how to migrate to NZ because I would really like to live there, and I hope that it won’t be too hard to do.

I have no idea what the requirements are, and so I have a lot to learn. (more…)

Home is Where You Make It

Monday, September 5th, 2016

I was just your average nine to five worker with lots of lofty dreams about hitting it big and moving abroad, maybe traveling the world in style with a chauffeur and a bodyguard, like a movie star. Of course there was absolutely zero chance of that happening but still, I wanted to get out and see the world if the chance ever arose so when I got a job offer for a company in Singapore, I jumped at the chance. I wanted to feel somewhat at home in a strange land so I had to find home movers in Singapore to help me bring some of my belongings into the new apartment.

Finding movers proved to be a rather daunting task, it took several internet searches and fifteen telephone calls before I found a company that could do what I needed. The company got my stuff all set in my new apartment before I even arrived myself which was nice and this was the first time I had ever not had to move a single thing myself. I could get used to that.

I found that life in Singapore was a lot like life in the states in some ways and lots different in other ways. The cuisine was different of course, but like every other place on the planet, there was a chain fast food joint, should I ever feel a need for a taste of home. I met a bunch of great people through work, both locals and expats like myself, both American and British. Our little group has had some great times, going out on the town and finding new and interesting adventures to have. I like it so much here that I think I may stay indefinitely, provided my job is still here. I feel more at home here than I ever have anywhere else.

Cheats Are Always Free to Use

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016

My friends got me hooked on the game Toy Blast. I had been playing another game involving a pair of pants, but that got old and I was looking for something else to play. They told me to give it a try and see if I liked it. I loved the game, but there was one thing holding me back. The game wanted me to spend real money, but there was no way I would do that. I asked them if they knew of any Toy Blast cheats that would make the game more fun to play, but they didn’t.

We searched through various forums to find some answers about some cheats that would help us become better at the game, but we couldn’t find anything relevant. (more…)
